Drop in for an evening of deep listening and good conversation. We’ll be spinning selections from the legendary band Gong — the cosmic jazz-rock collective led by Daevid Allen — and exploring how their music, philosophy, and spirit live on through the Church of Mother Gong.
Whether you’re a longtime Gong head or totally new to the sounds, this is a relaxed space to hear the music, ask questions about the church’s philosophy and practices, and connect with others drawn to the intersection of sound, consciousness, and community.
Free and open to all. No experience necessary — just bring your ears and your curiosity.

Join us for a relaxing afternoon of Tarot readings, soothing tea, and chair massages. Lounge in our gallery space while enjoying some herbal tea. Readings and massages, if you wish, are by donation. We hope to see you and welcome you to spend some time unwinding with us!

Our focus is on films relevant to North Beach, as well as showcasing works from local San Francisco filmmakers. Every third Wednesday from January through May, Professor Seagull's Smartshop hosts free film screenings at its event space, Live Worms Gallery. April's film will be The Man Who Cheated Himself (1950), directed by Feliz E. Feist.

Join us for an in-depth teaching on preparation, containment, and navigation of psychedelic states, led by Howard Whitehouse and hosted by the Church of Mother Gong. Howard will walk participants through the three supportive components of the traditional supportive context for psychedelic medicines. He will explain how these powerful technologies can facilitate Lucid Awakening. Howard will share a map to help prepare for experiences in the psychedelic realm so that one can derive meaning from these experiences for optimal integration.
